Rovira warns that "no one can take for granted" the ERC votes for the investiture

The ERC general secretary, Marta Rovira, has warned that "no one can take the votes of Esquerra Republicana for granted" for an investiture of the acting president and PSOE candidate for the Presidency, Pedro Sánchez.

In an interview this Wednesday on Catalunya Ràdio, Rovira claimed that "some of the agreements" made with the Socialists in the previous legislature that, literally, cannot be forgotten should be finished and fulfilled.

Regarding the tweet this Tuesday by the president of Junts, Laura Borràs, in which she replied to the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, his "disconnection from the reality of the independence movement", she has asked to clarify differences and leave sterile, tactical and partisan divisions .

"Everything we have tried to do in recent years has failed precisely because there is no strategic agreement," argued Rovira, who has insisted on drawing up an agreement that -in his words- cannot be tactical, circumstantial or of the moment.

He has also reiterated that proposals will not be lacking from the ERC and has advocated "taking advantage of the opportunity of the investiture of Pedro Sánchez" since Catalonia has said no to a PP and Vox government.

The general secretary of the Republicans has maintained that her experience in negotiating with the State is "positive" compared to the previous legislature, in which they managed to cross -textually- the red lines marked by the PSOE during the campaign.

He has advocated checking "under what conditions you can vote, under what conditions political repression has to end", and has described the dialogue table as one of the many ways to do so, which Junts will have to say if it accepts. "It is the first time that we have managed to sit down a Spanish government to assume that there is a political conflict" and he has asked to value the dialogue table.

Rovira explained that his party has started an "internal dialogue process" in which 80 people have been designated to discuss how to make an organization more efficient and appropriate for the 21st century, regarding the results of the municipal and general elections.

She has shown herself to be "concerned" about the party and its collective project and has indicated that the process will show conclusions as of September. She has also argued that the first demoscopic analyzes of 23J show that they are losing "a large part of the votes" that becomes --in her words-- a useful and tactical vote towards the PSOE and Sumar that is permeable to the discourse of fear. .
