The Rolling Stones are still more active than ever, even with not necessarily current material. Yesterday the documentary miniseries The Rolling Stones Chronicles premiered and today, Friday, GRRR Live! (Mercury/Universal), live album with his greatest hits.

Parallel in time, the miniseries The Rolling Stones Chronicles began airing yesterday Thursday on his YouTube channel hosted on Vevo. Co-produced by BBC Motion Gallery and ABKCO, the series consists of six short documentaries lasting between 3 and 5 minutes, each set to a 1960s hit by the group as its soundtrack.

The music is combined with thematically relevant interview clips of the band and contemporary historical figures, interspersed with documentary footage of related events in one way or another. Each episode will be released every Thursday a week apart, so the next installment will be on February 16.

Set to the band's 1965 hit single The Last Time, the episode played yesterday explains the influence of rock and roll and Chicago blues on the Stones, with footage of B.B. King, Little Richard and other glorious influences on the band.

As can be read in the note that explains the premiere of the miniseries "future episodes of The Rolling Stones Chronicles are based on the seismic cultural changes that occurred between 1965 and 1969, of which the Rolling Stones themselves were emblematic."
