Real Madrid takes a break and already plans the classic

Real Madrid's victory on Wednesday night over Shakhtar at the Bernabeu returned the Whites to the calm that had been slightly altered for the first time this season with Sunday's draw against Osasuna. Madrid's third consecutive victory in the Champions League allows Carlo Ancelotti to plan the next classic on October 16 without any kind of urgency, knowing that the goal of having the team qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League is very possible already this coming Tuesday, with two days left in the group stage.

The Italian coach advanced as soon as the game was over, at the press conference, that in the next two games there will be enough rotations to give the starters breaks. Madrid has its next appointment on Saturday the 8th (9:00 p.m.) at the Coliseum against Getafe in the middle of the table (fourteenth). The azulones are a team that the whites are quite good at and yet it was one of the three games they lost last season (1-0).

After the game against Getafe, Madrid will travel to Warsaw on Monday, where on Tuesday they play again against Shakhtar. A victory would give them the mathematical classification and if Leipzig is not capable of winning at Celtic Park in Glasgow, Ancelotti's men would also be sure to be first in the group.

For the Coliseum match, it is certain that players like Alaba, Kroos and Rodrygo will rest. It will be the day for Camavinga, Rüdiger and Asensio to return. It is not clear the contest of players who are coming out of their injuries, like Modric or Courtois. Hazard, who disappeared from the lineups a month ago, could also have minutes.

The concern right now in Madrid is to recover the aim. Benzema is not even half as efficient as last season and the team depends a lot on goals from Vinícius. The Brazilian has at this point 7 goals and two assists. Benzema, four goals and no assists.

Against Shakhtar, Madrid broke their record for shots in a match this season: 36 (fourteen between the three posts), with a rather poor balance: only two goals. It is also striking that Madrid have not kept a clean sheet in any of the eleven games played this season. Lunin stands out in this section: he has defended Madrid's posts seven times in these last two seasons and never left the match unbeaten.
