Rafael Amargo's father, urgently admitted to the hospital after his son's entry into prison

It is not a good time for Rafael Amargo. This Friday, the bailaor was placed in provisional prison after not having appeared to sign every 15 days in court, something that he had agreed to remain free. It should be remembered that in 2020 he was accused of alleged drug trafficking, and that in this case the Prosecutor's Office requested a sentence of nine years in prison. Now the dancer faces another setback on a personal level. As Jaime Caballero, Amargo's lawyer, confirmed to El Español, Rafael's father would have been admitted to the emergency hospital after the arrest of his daughter.

As we said, this Friday the news broke that the Madrid Court had ordered the bailaor's imprisonment due to the risk of escape. The dancer is in the Madrid prison of Soto del Real for "repeated breach" of the obligation to sign. The choreographer had to come on the 1st and 15th of each month to sign to prove that he had not absconded, something he would not have done on several occasions. Rafael will remain in prison until the trial is held, which is scheduled for April 8, 10, 11 and 12.

However, his problem with justice is not the only one that Rafael has. According to what has been learned, after his entry into prison, the health of his father, Florentino, has worsened. Apparently the man is admitted in serious condition, as Jaime Caballero, Amargo's lawyer, revealed to El Español. "He is in quite bad shape after the arrest of his son, as any father can find himself," the lawyer expressed to the aforementioned media.

The dancer's father is in a delicate state since his son's case came to light. "What hurts me the most is that it is costing my father his life. He is dying in a hospital," Rafael said last July. And it is worth remembering that both the dancer's father and mother have always stayed out of the spotlight. It was when the case came to light that both defended that his son had "a black hand that is dragging him."

For his part, Caballero has spoken about the reason why his client has gone to prison. "Sometimes he has failed to attend on the 1st and 15th of each month, which was his abstract obligation, and he has not complied rigorously, which has led to the medical documentation we had being insufficient for the judge and they have sent my client and the other accused to jail," the lawyer expressed to the aforementioned media.

Continuing with his statements about his entry into prison, the lawyer assures that Amargo's absence from signing when it was his turn is due to "psychological problems" that have made it "difficult for him to fulfill his obligations, and even more so if you have to people who follow you to take photos. We will have to wait for the trial to learn more details about this case.
