Processions, beach, good weather and a festival, the Valencian Community full at Easter

The landing on the weekend at the AVE station in Valencia already presaged good numbers of visitors and occupation during Holy Week. Also withholdings on highways in Madrid and Barcelona in the direction of the Valencian coast. And all with the sun and a pleasant temperature.

In the middle of the week, the regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, pointed out that "the hotels on the coast of the Valencian Community start with an occupancy of 80% for these Easter holidays", and added that it was expected to increase with the "reservations last minute”, increasingly common among today's travelers. The forecast for inland municipalities was 76% occupancy.

Along these lines, a few days later, the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, was "hopeful" that this Holy Week will be "very profitable" for the economy and tourism of the Valencian Community, since he has trusted in being able to reach "practically more than 90% occupancy" thanks to last-minute reservations.

The hotel employer Hosbec also put figures: 85% average occupancy, although coastal municipalities such as Altea (Alicante) have given the "bell" and with more than 92% of their hotel capacity reserved.

In statements to Europa Press Television, the president of Hosbec, Fede Fuster, pointed out to Europa Press that large cities such as Valencia, Benicàssim, Peníscola or Castelló, border on and in some cases exceed 90% occupancy. All this, accompanied by a "spectacular" spring weather, allows for a first "positive" assessment.

For its part, the Gandia City Council is preparing to receive thousands of visitors this weekend who will take advantage of the holidays. The occupancy forecast on the beach is 91% and we must add to the results of the last bank holiday, when the capital of La Safor and its beach achieved an average occupancy of 83%.

Precisely this good weather is what can allow when the global balance is made that the occupancy figures increase. These days many people have been seen on the beaches of the Valencian Community taking advantage of the sun and the good temperatures.

The coast is one of the great attractions of the Valencian Community, but so are the traditions and processions that are taking place these days throughout the country.

Thus, this Good Friday the traditional Rompida de l'Alcora was celebrated. In it, hundreds of drums and bass drums made the municipality of l'Alcora vibrate in a sound demonstration that has flooded this Castellón town with feeling, sound and emotion.

As if that were not enough, the SanSan festival opened its 2023 edition this Thursday in Benicàssim (Castellón) with a day in which 15,000 people "enjoyed a proposal full of music" and, on this occasion, good weather. On the poster groups like Love Of Lesbian, Zahara, Phoneix, Leiva or Carolina Durante.
