"Both express the difficulty of this decision, the deep appreciation and respect they have for each other, but also the love with which they have walked all these years," the Royal House began by saying, ensuring that both will continue living in Greece. On the other hand, they point out that "the same values of respect and understanding will form the basis of their relationship in the future, a relationship of deep and sincere friendship." The royals also ask for "respect and discretion" at this time.
Tatiana of Greece and Prince Nicholas met outside Greek borders. Specifically, it was during a New Year's Eve party in Switzerland. Then, they began a romantic relationship and after seven years together, Prince Nicholas asked her to marry him. The engagement ring belonged to Queen Ingrid of Denmark. Thus, the couple would begin to take one of the most important steps of their lives.
It wasn't until August 2010 when they said 'I do'. It was a wedding in style, which was quite a social event, since it was the first Greek royal wedding in 70 years.
