PP and Vox close an agreement in the Balearic Islands so that the popular Prohens governs alone

Marga Prohens will be president of the Government with a government without Vox ministers after Santiago Abascal's party has wrested a good part of its demands from the PP, especially in matters of Catalan, equality policies and democratic memory. The negotiation has been closed after a meeting held this Wednesday afternoon by the two teams in which the negotiator sent from Madrid by Vox also participated.

The agreement reached, which includes 110 programmatic measures for a change in current policies, "allows the islands to be provided with a stable government," they report in a joint statement. Vox is committed to giving stability to the new Government of Marga Prohens with the commitment not to present in the entire legislature an amendment to the entire General Budget Law of the Community and a monitoring and evaluation commission will be created whose objective will be to control the compliance with the programmatic agreement signed by both formations.

The programmatic document develops the five basic lines agreed upon by both formations on June 19, 2023 in order to preserve freedom, economic development, improvements in social services and public health, the protection of women and security of the citizens of the Balearic Islands, and allows compliance with the government program with which the Popular Party presented itself in the last elections on May 28.

On the other hand, the leaderships of the Popular Party of Mallorca and the Popular Party of Menorca have respectively reached an agreement whereby Vox will support the investiture of Llorenç Galmés as president of the Consell de Mallorca and that of Dolfo Vilafranca as president of the Consell de Menorca, respectively, incorporating said training in the insular governments.

In a statement, the Popular Party thanks Vox for its predisposition from the outset to reach an agreement that respects the mandate of citizens at the polls and the desire for change expressed in the Balearic Islands.
