According to the Sanger Police Department, two people were arrested for setting a man ablaze on Thursday night.

After police allege that Castillo set fire to a man, Patricia Castillo (48) and Leonard Hawkins (43), both from Sanger were taken into Fresno County Jail.

This happened around 9:15 on Thursday. Officers from Sanger responded to a call about an injured man in the 700 block at Faller Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene to find a man with severe burns on his upper body. Officers were told by the man that a woman had set him ablaze while he was at Sanger Park, 400 block of Academy Avenue. Because of the severity and extent of his injuries, EMS immediately took him to a local hospital.

Castillo is seen approaching the victim and pouring liquid from a cup onto him. Castillo lit a lighter on the victim and then castillo appeared to have an argument with the victim. Further investigation revealed Hawkins was the accelerant for Castillo.

The victim is currently being treated in an area hospital. He is expected to live.
