Las Terres de l'Ebre forms a territory where one of the largest rivers in the Iberian Peninsula, the Ebro, creates the great delta, at the same time that the mountains of the Els Ports Natural Park meet the Mediterranean Sea.
The Ebro Delta attracts tourism for its beaches, its landscape of rice fields and for being the habitat of thousands of birds, such as flamingos and other migratory and native species, which can be observed.
In addition, it is an area rich in gastronomy, ideal for travelers who like tranquility and relaxation in nature, like this group that forms a game of shadows in this image in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia.
The Ebro Delta Natural Park houses several protected areas with restricted access. One of them is Punta del Fangar, a space with peculiar dunes that extend along six kilometers along the sea.
Altogether, the Ebro Delta is home to 316 common bird species and some 360 registered birds out of the 600 existing in Europe. Among the most colorful in the Ebro Delta wetland are the flamingos, common in rice fields, a very common crop in this area.
