Barcelona has turned red and has shown its most supportive side by responding to the call of Dr. Bonaventura Clotet to fight infectious diseases. The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC) has once again been the setting for the People in Red gala, in its 14th edition and has brought together around 800 people with a clear objective: to raise funds for scientific research in the Foundation Fight Infections.
The Gala was presented by Andreu Buenafuente, who for one night changed Silvia Abril, his wife, for Llum Barrera. The musical performance was performed by Rozalén, a very sensitive artist who has performed four songs, among which was Comiéndote a kisses, which refers precisely to the stigma that still exists among patients with HIV. This solidarity gala was previously to fight against AIDS, but after the Covid pandemic the name of the Foundation changed, expanding it to all infectious diseases. The show of the gala has not only been on the stage but also on the tables where the guests have dined on a menu created for the occasion by Nandu Jubany, chef with a Michelin star and collaborator for several years with People in Red. And During the appetizers outside the Palau Nacional, attendees enjoyed a production of the Fura dela Baus in which more than 40 actors from the Institut del Teatre formed a human network from a crane 30 meters high.
Without a doubt one of the attractions of this gala since it was held for the first time in 2011, with Miguel Bosé as host, is the number of personalities from the artistic, social, sports and business world who come together. The first to pose on the red carpet was Dr. Bonaventura Clotet with his two children.
