Yesterday Olot hosted the Rúa de Carnaval on a spring day and with many groups parading, like every year, with a lot of joy, color and fun, as can be seen in this photographic report in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.
I have tried to capture the best images. This year the color and variety made an appearance, especially with very colorful motifs and very elaborate makeup.
The costumes and floats are improved with imagination every year, as are the troupes with their dances. Public attendance from Olot and outside the capital of La Garrotxa also increases every year.
The groups, just finishing this 2024 parade, are already preparing and working a whole year to have everything ready for the next one. There is a lot of work behind this road, which cannot be seen. They have worked many hours and the result can be seen when they parade through the streets and squares of Olot.
It is a very participatory event in the city and, in addition, it is one of the last streets in Catalonia, one of those that mark the end of the Carnivals. A good reason to visit Olot at this time.
