Acrobatics return to the city of Roses with the second edition of Nits de Circ. After passing through Besalú, where more than 5,000 spectators have enjoyed the show, it is the turn of the city of Alt Empordà. The organizers hope to repeat the success of the first edition, which, despite the fact that it was held in the midst of a pandemic and with restrictions, achieved a total plenary session. This year, with tickets still on sale, the show already has 96% occupancy and arrived on Friday with 12,000 tickets sold, between Roses and Besalú. However, it is expected to exceed these figures in the coming days.
The Nits de Circ tent was installed in the citadel of Roses on August 16 and will remain in that place until the next day 24. Its director and promoter, Genís Matabosch, explains to La Vanguardia that, although on August 21 “ We were going to take it as a day of pause and rest between performance and performance, the demand is being such that we have decided to please the public and that day we will also open”.
One of the attractions of the show is that it is an open-air production. “The curtain opens at 9:30 p.m., so it is already night. This allows that in certain numbers in which you look up, such as the trapeze, the spectators can also enjoy the stars”, explains Matabosch.
The manager also highlights another aspect, that of internationality, since "we have artists from up to eight different countries who bring very diverse and original proposals that attendees will surely enjoy." In addition, he insists, “it is the first time they have worked with us, so we remain committed to offering a new show that has never been seen before”.
On one side are the world stars of the daredevil wheel of death, who hail from Ecuador, and the Donnert duo from Hungary with their high-voltage acrobatic skating. Like any good circus, humor is not lacking either, which this year is in charge of Eric Boo; nor the acrobats of incredible strength from Kazakhstan. As for the balance, it will be carried out by Krasimir Vasov, from Bulgaria.
The numbers in which it will be mandatory to look at the sky will be starred by Camila Palma, from Chile, with her flying trapeze, and the duo Moment of Love, who come from Vietnam to delight the attendees with their aerial tape flights, eight meters ground.
All of them can be seen during the hour and a half that the show lasts, which, as the organizers point out, does not have an intermission. “Ninety minutes of non-stop magic that invite you to disconnect and, above all, to enjoy yourself”, says Matabosch.
Despite the fact that the performances start at 9:30 p.m., from Nits de Circ they remember that the accesses will remain open from 8:00 p.m. “It is advisable to access the site beforehand, not only for a matter of safety and comfort, but also for the opportunity to enjoy the village”, they advance. And it is that, with the price of admission, access to a space dedicated to gastronomy is included in which there will be a selected variety of foodtrucks so that, whoever wishes, can eat before the show.
"A night for all ages in which there is only one goal: to enjoy," concludes Matabosch.
