As labor desertification advances, professional orchards become more important. Gardens in which to get drunk with the fragrance of a thousand types of flower. Orchards in which it is enough to extend your hand to reach the taste of any imagined fruit. To take advantage of a stay in such an appealing place it is unnecessary to provide yourself with luggage. It is enough with a hoarding attitude and a soup ladle with which to gluttonously take to the mouth the ambrosia that is generously dispensed there in bulk.
While the common citizen pilgrimages his days through the aridity of an increasingly extensive desert, the lucky one who is granted access to an orchard becomes the protagonist of a dream life. In the orchard of the Parliament of Catalonia, for example, its inhabitants charge to stay at home devoted to Netflix or any other distraction a few years before their retirement. In addition, when the moment of official retirement arrives, they are given a full year of salary –clean of dust and straw– to compensate for the hardships suffered after a life working with heating, air conditioning, time to eat breakfast and do the shopping and many months annual vacation. What would come to be a pick and shovel in a mine. It is a pity that in the case of a public orchard, its honorable members must periodically endure criticism, as scathing as it is unfair, from the citizens; incapable of understanding - the rabble is equipped with little brain - the high level of sacrifice of these distinguished workers of the public sphere.
Hence the true paradise, the mother of all orchards, can only exist in the private world. A place where transparency is only a word empty of meaning. A place where audits are like tailor-made suits, designed to beautify even the most messy bodies. A location where explanations are unnecessary, either because no one asks for them, or because it is extremely easy to cheat those who demand them. A house in which so much money flows and so uncontrollably that only with the small change of the changes already gives to live in a big way. That place is FC Barcelona. And that is what proves, without the need for any trial, the Enríquez Negreira case. The discretion, joy and audacity with which they manage, regardless of the board of directors, money, perks and favors in the house of Barcelona fans. Barça threatens to take to court anyone who dares to stain the reputation of the shield on account of the scandal that involves enriching an active arbitration leader. It does well, of course.
