More than thirty people were injured, five seriously, during a wedding near the Italian city of Pistoia, in Tuscany, when the pavement of a former convent where a wedding was being held collapsed.

The incident occurred last night when a part of the floor of the ancient convent of Giaccharino, from the 15th century, long restored and equipped to host celebrations and banquets, collapsed while the wedding guests were dancing in one of its halls. first floor.

Fortunately, at the time of the accident, around sixty of the nearly 300 guests who attended the wedding remained. More than 30 fell through the sinkhole caused by the collapse.

The balance is thirty injured, among them the bride and groom, all of them minor, while another five are hospitalized in serious condition, in code red, as reported on his social networks by the governor of the Tuscany region, Eugenio Giani.

The people were immediately treated by Civil Protection, transferring them to hospitals in various cities such as Pistoia, Prato, Lucca or Cisanello.

Meanwhile, firefighters went to the scene to help secure it and clarify the causes of the collapse.
