More than 500 employees will leave Ford Valencia until the summer with the ERE that starts today

After months of negotiations, this Tuesday the first employee departures will take place at Ford Almussafes after the Employment Regulation File that the company has raised and that will leave 1,124 employees out of the factory.

The UGT-PV union, which is the majority in the company and which heads the works council, explained this Tuesday that the first departures will take place over the next few days after having agreed with the management that a 15-day notice will be given. They are looking for the exits to be "calm and orderly", they explain from the union.

In this first phase of the ERE, those who take advantage of the process until June 30 will receive 40,000 gross euros, an additional compensation that they agreed on at the negotiating table and that doubles the initial proposal.

The conditions were closed on April 4 after being able to lower the early retirement age, in addition to improvements in the complement to the unemployment benefit to 75% of salary until reaching the age of 57, which maintains the contribution until the age of 62.

The company, which proposed to liquidate the ERE before the summer, has set itself the goal of closing half of the total number of departures, which are 1,124, before the summer holidays. However, from the UGT-PV union they warn that some departure date may be delayed due to production needs, although they state that this will be compromised on the agreed date. Negotiation began in March when the production surplus was announced, which represents 20% of the workforce of the Valencian factory.

With the period of departure there will be an accompaniment, they explain, since a relocation company will work with the employees, if they wish, "once they have formalized their voluntary leave," says the union.
