More problems for Twitter and Elon Musk: parts of their source code are leaked on the internet

Elon Musk's controversial run as owner and head honcho of Twitter continues. In case he had no problems with employees who denounce that he sends them emails at two in the morning, now some court documents that reveal parts of the source code of the social network have leaked on the Internet and have been exposed.

In fact, according to The New York Times, Twitter had to allege copyright infringement for the collaborative programming network Github to remove the files from its network.

Although Github removed the source code of the social network the same day, no details have been provided about the time it remained hanging, nor about the scope of the leak.

As part of the data removal request, Twitter also asked the Court for the Northern District of California to compel Github to reveal the identity of the person who posted the code, as well as those who accessed and downloaded it. At the moment, the judiciary has not agreed to this request.

According to company sources familiar with the internal investigation cited by The New York Times, Twitter executives have well-founded suspicions that the leak was the work of a disgruntled employee who left the company "within the last year."

The executives of the social network have expressed their concern that the revelations obtained from the stolen code could enhance future hacking attempts of the social network, either by revealing new weaknesses or by allowing hackers to access the data of the users of the social network. Twitter.

Let's remember that when Elon Musk bought Twitter last October for 44,000 million dollars, he immediately proceeded to fire 80% of his staff. Musk, who serves as the company's CEO, admitted last week that Twitter's value had fallen by nearly half in recent months.
