Although the color of the trees' leaves still reminds us of the water stress that the flora of Montseny is suffering from with the drought, after these March rains it seems that there is an improvement.
The rainfall has had its effect and the reservoir has a different appearance compared to time ago, as we see in this snapshot in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia, although it still has a long way to go to be at its full capacity.
This reservoir owes its name to the stream on which it is built, that of Santa Fe, a tributary of the Tordera river, and belongs to the municipality of Fogàs de Monclús, in Vallès Oriental.
However, the reservoir drinks from various streams such as Passavets or Gualba, although this summer there is still not much water flowing through these streams in the absence of more rain.
The history of this reservoir dates back to the beginning of the 20th century when the Barcelona businessman and publisher Ramón Montaner bought the Santa Fe Valley.
His goal was to build a luxury hotel and, since there was no electricity, he ordered a dam to be built. Finally, it was necessary to create the swamp, in 1935.
