Montseny dawns crowned with snow

Montseny is one of the busiest and most popular natural parks, largely due to its proximity to the Barcelona area. It is located in the Catalan pre-coastal mountain range, between the regions of Osona, Vallès Oriental and La Selva.

It is also suffering the consequences of the drought, so it has been good news that Three Kings Day finally dawned covered in snow, as we see in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

This morning, 10 centimeters of powder snow and a lot of wind, cold and ice on Turó de l'Home, the highest mountain in the Montseny massif, with a height of 1712 meters, above the peaks of Les Agudes and El Matagalls .

We woke up with a pleasant gift on Three Kings' Day: being able to see Montseny covered in snow, in addition to the much-needed rain that left us with 21.6 mm yesterday in Mas Corts (Sant Fost de Campsentelles).

In these images we can see the floury Montseny, with the Matagalls massif as the protagonist, seen from the region of Osona.

From Sant Esteve de Palautordera, a town that has some of the best views of Montseny from the Vallès Oriental, you can see the snow-capped mountain.

After an afternoon-night yesterday when it rained, in Montseny, it snowed. Once in Sant Esteve de Palautordera we realized that the mountain had become snow-covered.

A spectacular and long-awaited snowfall not so much because of the quantity but because of the context of climate change. Without a doubt, there is no better way to start the year than seeing the snowy Montseny.
