Wilevis Brito, a 24-year-old Venezuelan model, has died after complications resulting from maxillofacial surgery. The young woman, very followed on social networks, a regular at beauty pageants and a candidate for Miss Venezuela, lost her life on April 8 after undergoing the intervention, which she required to fix a "small lump" on her upper lip "for reasons of health".
Brito, who was currently combining her career as a model with her studies in Law, Journalism and Tourism; She underwent surgery at a hospital in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, where she resided after several years living in Argentina.
The young model was very popular on social networks, where she created content on topics such as sports, fashion or beauty. Without going any further, she herself had been in the world of beauty pageants since she was eight years old, at which time she joined the Cerynel Fashion Academy in La Guaira - a city where she also won the title of Queen of Beauty Pageants. According to a person close to her confirmed to local media, the young model underwent surgery "due to maxillofacial wear and tear and a small lump that formed on the upper part of her lip." Apparently, Brito decided to have surgery to avoid future complications, but she began to feel unwell shortly after.
"Apparently he was fine after the operation, but then complications began," they add. The authorities have opened an investigation to determine the details of his death, the exact causes of which are still unknown. His entourage, however, insists that this surgery was "for health, not for cosmetic or beauty reasons."
His publications on his Instagram account, still active, have been filled with messages of condolences as his followers learn of the news of his premature death. One of her last posts was to share how she had experienced attending the concert of one of his idols, Karol G, from where she shared some photos and videos.
"Without a doubt one of the best nights of my life," the model wrote then.
