Mesoestetic adds subsidiaries to boost its growth

Mesoestetic, a pharmaceutical laboratory specializing in cosmetics and aesthetic medicine, accelerates its expansion plan with new subsidiaries to strengthen the business in key markets. The company owned by the Font family, based in Viladecans, will add a new delegation in the United Arab Emirates next October, another one in the United Kingdom and, within three years, two subsidiaries in the Benelux and China, thus increasing an international network of offices that started in 2020 in Poland.

"Our objective is to consolidate and strengthen the markets where we have a notable presence," says Carles Font, director of management control and organizational development at Mesoestetic. China is already its main business by sales volume, contributing 14% of the 63.5 million euros billed in 2022. With a strong penetration in the sector of depigmenting products, Mesoestetic expects to increase revenues in the Asian country by five million this 2023. The objective for the current year is to reach 74 million euros in turnover counting its 109 markets, thus following a growth path that it has maintained even during the pandemic period. From the 31.7 million sales in 2019, it went to 35.1 in 2020 and 46.9 in 2021. The opening of subsidiaries will allow the company to increase its turnover, says Carles Font, with a forecast of one hundred million euros between 2025 and 2026.

The company controls the entire production process, from basic research in the laboratory, where it devises and studies the efficacy of its products from the beginning of the process in cell cultures, to the phase of clinical trials, verification and sale to aesthetic medicine professionals. "In this way, we ensure quality and rigor throughout the process," Font points out.

The company does not distribute dividends and reinvests its profits – it obtained 14 million in 2022 – in the growth of the firm. 40% of the profits go to RD every year. The company accompanies its commercial expansion with an expansion of the Viladecans plant, which will allow it to multiply its production capacity. Mesoestetic prepares the construction of a second building, with which it will reach 18,000 square meters of surface. The investment will amount to around 30 million euros of own resources. “We don't need external investors”, emphasizes Font.
