Mbappé informs PSG that he will not renew and the club is considering selling him, according to 'L'Équipe'

Kylyan Mbappé, 24, has formally communicated to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) that he will not extend his contract, which ends on June 30, 2024, and the club is considering transferring him so that he does not leave for free, as reported in the L'Équipe this Monday night.

The future of the French player is up in the air. The French newspaper talks about an approach for its sale by the Parisian club and that it is set for this summer.

Following the announcement of the player, who has not caught PSG by surprise, he would be free at the end of next season and could start negotiating with any club as of January 1. Even so, it seems that the club has not welcomed the striker's last gesture. They were willing to make great efforts to retain him beyond 2024. According to PSG sources, they assured L'Équipe that Mbappé will not leave for free, so if the player does not express his willingness to renew he will be transferred in the coming weeks.

This will be the third consecutive year that Mbappé's future has made headlines. In the summer of 2021, Real Madrid came to offer 200 million euros for the footballer, even if he only had one year left on his contract. And in the last moments of last season it was practically taken for granted that the player would not renew to go to the Merengue club, although he did finally sign a new contract with the Parisian club, although only for two seasons and an optional one.

For the fifth consecutive season, Mbappé finished the French league, being the top scorer with 29 goals.

The Paris-born striker joined PSG in 2017 after leaving Monaco.
