Mazón proposes that the pact for gender violence enter the agreements with the opposition

"What we can do or not do (about gender violence) is everyone's business. This calls for unity," said the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, this afternoon during the institutional event celebrating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women held in a packed Palau de la Generalitat.

The head of the Consell has concluded the event led by the second vice president, Susana Camarero, competent in equality policies, inviting the opposition - which he has not directly cited - to incorporate a pact on gender violence to the consensus that has been reached. proposed. "I am committed to incorporating this new area into those pacts we make," she declared.

In a speech that appealed to everyone, Carlos Mazón stressed that "there is nothing here that separates us, other matters will separate us, but this unites us", while ensuring that the fight against violence against women is "a matter of State that requires our public commitment, far from any debate."

The event was attended by both the First Vice President Vicente Barrera and the Minister of Justice, Elisa Núñez, both from Vox, whose considerations on gender violence strain the possibility of consensus between the Valencian government and the opposition. Both participated in the event and presented awards, as did President Carlos Mazón and the regional secretary of Equality and Diversity, Asunción Quinzá. Members of the Les Corts Board were also invited to the event, such as deputy Maria Josep Amigó (Compromís).

Those awarded by the Consell, in this first edition of the awards, as highlighted by the vice president and councilor of Social Services, Equality and Housing, the awarded entities were Antena 3 Noticias for its "Zero Tolerance" campaign organized together with the Mutua Madrileña Foundation , the ONCE Foundation and the APRAMP association that offers comprehensive assistance to victims of sexual exploitation trafficking.

Also the judge José María Gómez Villora, who was head of the court on violence against women and the first judge of violence against women in Valencia, as well as the ANAR Foundation, whose study and work was presented yesterday by Minister Camarero to highlight the scourge of gender violence.

The most emotional part of the event was, without a doubt, the intervention of a victim of sexual exploitation, who is part of the APRAMP collective, who has demanded equal treatment for women who suffer this type of violence. "It's not the poor ones, the illiterate ones, those of us who come from other countries, the Europeans, we all have fathers and mothers; we are not ex-prostitutes, but we are victims of trafficking." In a widely applauded speech, the woman stressed that "prostitution is not the oldest job in the world, the oldest job in the world is looking the other way."

On the other hand, this Friday the PSPV-PSOE has announced that it will promote the signing of a decalogue against gender violence that it will promote in all the municipalities of the Valencian Community to continue fighting against "the great cause of humanity and equality that “It is the eradication of gender violence.” They announced this this Friday in an event in which the general secretary of the PSPV-PSOE, Ximo Puig, participated, who pointed out that "the fight against gender violence is a battle for inequality and decency" and recalled that “We are talking about an issue that is not partisan, but rather concerns the entire society.”

The Government delegate, Pilar Bernabé, has also assured at a similar event held in Valencia that the Government Delegation "will be vigilant so that the State Pact against Gender Violence is fulfilled" and has stated that "it is not a step back in the fight against gender violence, which must have a social consensus.”
