Luis Enrique surprises from day one: Pau Torres as a winger and Asensio as a nine

For starters, surprises. The World Cup has not yet started and Luis Enrique has already managed to surprise locals and strangers with an unusual eleven to face Jordan. The goal, the left side and the point of attack are the positions in which the coach is more interventionist three days before the start of the World Cup.

In the goal, Luis Enrique has opted to grant ownership to Robert Sánchez. Although it is foreseeable that during the game he will make Unai Simón play, at the beginning it will be the substitute goalkeeper of the national team.

More surprising is the choice of Pau Torres for the left back. After Gayá's injury, the Asturian has opted to move the central defender to that position, very unusual for him. The coach does not want surprises and Jordi Alba is saved to enter as a refreshment. Surely if it were the debut in the World Cup the choice would be different.

Also striking in the eleven is the presence of Asensio along with Ansu Fati and Pablo Sarabia. All three are wing players, so some or all of them will play false nine for more mobility. In this case, both Asensio and Ansu Fati are more apt to develop that role.

Thus, the eleven of Spain to face Jordan will be the following: Robert Sánchez, Carvajal, Eric Garcia, Laporte, Pau Torres, Koke, Carlos Soler, Gavi, Sarabia, Ansu Fati and Asensio.
