Look how the moon covers Tibidabo

In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can see this photographic sequence of the Moon on August 31 rising from Tibidabo. The snapshots were taken from Sant Andreu.

This series of photos, taken with a 100/400 (x2) lens, was possible due to the planning of the moonrise calculated by Francisco, Mario and Mònica, from the photography group @barcelona_photographers on Instagram.

The Moon is the only natural satellite of the Earth. With an equatorial diameter of 3,474.8 km, it is the fifth largest satellite in the solar system.

As for the proportional size with respect to its planet, the Moon is the largest satellite: a quarter of the diameter of the Earth and 1/81 of its mass. It is also, after Io, the second densest satellite.

Tibidabo is, at 512 meters above sea level, the highest peak in the Collserola mountain range. It is popular for its views over the city of Barcelona and for its natural spaces, which are used for recreational purposes.

The Tibidabo hill began to be urbanized at the end of the 19th century, at the initiative of Dr. Salvador Andreu. In the images we can see characteristic elements, such as the amusement park Ferris wheel, illuminated at night, and the Tibidabo temple, reminiscent of the Sacré Cœur Basilica in the Parisian neighborhood of Montmartre.
