Look how the meander of the Ter has dried up

In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can see how the landscape of the meander of the Ter has changed, becoming dry.

This is a comparative image of December 3, 2020 and April 11, 2023, with the monastery of Sant Pere de Casserres de testimonio, in Les Masies de Roda (Osona).

The Sau reservoir is now at 6.5% of its capacity and a rainier spring is not expected, so the landscape of the meander of the Ter does not seem to be changing again.

The meander is a curve described by the course of a river, whose sinuosity is pronounced, as can be seen in the images. They form more easily in rivers on alluvial plains with very little slope.

Next to the Sau reservoir we find the viewpoint of the meander of the Ter, from which you can see Sant Pere de Casserres, an 11th century Romanesque monastery of the Benedictine order and which has an origin closely linked to women.

On the left we see the swamp in December 2020, which normally in spring could still be seen a little more crowded; on the right, the current dry spot.
