In this series of images in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can see to what extent the landscape of the meander of the Ter has changed with the drought.
The meander of the Ter, around the monastery of Sant Pere de Casserres, is very dry, with very little water, just a trickle, like a timid stream. But, the grass has grown and that has made it become pasture land.
The meander is a curve described by the course of a river, whose sinuosity is pronounced, as can be seen in the images. They form more easily in rivers on alluvial plains with very little slope.
Next to the Sau reservoir we find the viewpoint of the meander of the Ter, from which you can see Sant Pere de Casserres, an 11th century Romanesque monastery of the Benedictine order and which has an origin closely linked to women.
The Sau reservoir is currently at 6.93% of its capacity, when a year ago at the same time it was at 61.41%. The average of the last five years is 123.50%.
