Letizia, aware of the repercussion of her first public appearance after the summer, has chosen an act of solidarity and humanitarian character to return to work, presiding over the delivery of the UNICEF Spain awards, an organization of which she is honorary president.

Since the Queen accompanied the King at the official opening of the Royal Collections museum on July 25, Letizia has not been missing. On the contrary, this summer her appearances, both private and official, have multiplied in recent weeks. Upon her arrival in Palma, she attended the closing of the Mallorca Film Festival; During the first week in Marivent, the Kings and her daughters visited the Alfabia Gardens and the Queen, together with Leonor and Sofia, made a private visit to a school farm for children with functional diversity. During her stay in Mallorca, which lasted until August 12, the family also shared a dinner and a trip to the movies to see Barbie. The Kings, together with Queen Sofia, also offered an official reception to the Balearic authorities and society.

The Queen's next appearance took place on August 17 at the General Military Academy of Zaragoza, where together with the King and Infanta Sofia, they accompanied Princess Leonor as she entered the center to begin her military training. Two days later, together with Infanta Sofia, the Queen made a trip, 24 hours there and 24 hours back, to attend the final that crowned the Spanish national team's soccer players as world champions.

On August 29, Zarzuela provided some images of the farewell to Infanta Sofía at the gates of the family residence before her trip to Wales to begin her International Baccalaureate studies.

The Queen and Infanta Sofia had to attend the sporting triumph together with the then president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales. The awards have the objective of recognizing the commitment and effort of people and institutions that significantly contribute to changing the lives of the most vulnerable children and advancing in the defense of children's rights. The awards highlight the cultural, social or human nature of individuals, groups or institutions, national and international, related to the well-being of children and that responds to the values ​​promoted by UNICEF, which works in 190 countries and territories.

On this occasion, UNICEF Spain has recognized the work of the Congenital Heart Disease Unit of the La Paz Hospital in Madrid, in the Transforma category; to the journalist Alexia Columba Jerez, for a report on the drama of Ukrainian orphanages, published in the newspaper ABC, in the Comunica category; and Shabana Basij-Rasikh, Afghan activist and co-founder of the School of Leadership of Afghanistan, in the Joaquín Ruiz-Giménez category.
