Francisco Javier Almeida López de Castro from Logroño is a rapist and murderer. He abused a girl in 1989, for which he was tried and convicted, but obtained prison benefits for good conduct and was released on provisional release shortly after. In 1989, he raped and killed a 26-year-old girl. He was tried again and sentenced, this time to the maximum sentence in force at that time: 25 years in prison.
As with most rapists, his conduct in prison was exemplary. Despite the fact that the reports from the technicians at the El Dueso prison (Cantabria) flatly rejected any benefit in the sentence due to the "medium-high" risk of recidivism, the judge granted him the third degree in March 2020.
Almeida settled in Lardero, on the outskirts of Logroño, in a quiet residential area, the Villa Patro urbanization. And as expected, on October 28 of the same year, while his neighbors were celebrating Halloween, the monster appeared again.
