Landscape contrasts from Els Munts

Els Munts is a mountain that, thanks to its strategic location and its 1,057 meters above sea level, not only offers splendid views of the landscape, but of its contrasts.

We can see from the seas of fog to the last redoubts of snow on the peaks of the Pyrenees, but we can also see how cattle graze in the mountain meadows or how the countryside shows off the colors of spring, as can be seen in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.

In addition, in these domains of Sant Agustí de Lluçanès, we find the Santuario dels Munts, a baroque church whose architectural relevance means that it is included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.

Inside is the image of the Mare de Déu dels Munts, a piece dating from the 13th century that, although it has undergone numerous restorations, is of incalculable value.

From the site of this sanctuary, with a 360º view we see Montseny, Collsacabra, the Eastern Pyrenees, the Pedraforca massif or Montserrat.

Not only the fog can be observed, but other meteorological phenomena, such as the solar halo, a disk-shaped optical effect around the sun and that presents an iridescent ring on its outer circumference.
