Life does not make it easy for Kiko Rivera (Seville, 1984). Recovery from the stroke that he suffered in October 2022, life seems to push him back into the corner, now not to think but to rest. Last Thursday, July 13, he gave some interviews, this one among them, to present his return to music with El Mambo, his new work and in which the Latin rhythm gives way to electronics. The emotion did not last long: on Friday the 14th he was urgently admitted to the Vithas Sevilla hospital due to a heart problem that has already been successfully operated on.
Kiko thanked all those who have cared for him on his Instagram account, with special affection for his wife, Irene Rosales, and his mother. Isabel Pantoja has lived up to visiting her son at a very difficult time even though the always close relationship between the two broke up three years ago. Irene Rosales is his wife but also his guide and his pillar.
The current Kiko Rivera, father, husband and focused, has nothing to do with that straying young man who hurried the nights regardless of the dawn. This is the balance that he made for La Vanguardia on Thursday: “My biggest mistake has been living life as I have lived it, without measure. I would be lying if I told you that I regret it but if I could change it, I would do it right now. The best? I feel proud of the family that I have been able to form, despite many obstacles. And to have gotten ahead by my own means: I come from a family, and I have no qualms about saying it, in which everyone lives off my mother. And for many years I did not want that for myself; I am proud to say that being able to stay with that and live off the story, I have gotten ahead with my work”.
That family is Irene Rosales and their two daughters together, Ana and Carlota. Her eldest son, Francisco, lives in Bilbao with his mother, Jessica Bueno. Kiko spares no praise or recognition for Irene every time she is asked. She has it on an altar: “I am lucky, man. She is a babe on the outside but above all, on the inside, an excellent mother who changed my life at the time of her and who continues to take care of me. My father from heaven, I always think about it, he is the one who put me on the path to that being of light who guides me through the good life ”.
A life that requires a few more days of rest for a DJ who returns with Mambo and with the lesson learned after a forced catharsis: “The stroke changed my life: I have reconsidered many things and what better way than to return with music that transmit happiness, which is the moment in which I am now. I consider that I have a second chance and I don't want to sell grief but joy”.
And when Kiko celebrated the positive medical report yesterday, the end of the Mediaset veto came, a media group that has kept him away from the cameras for almost a year. This is how he explained his version of the conflict last Thursday. “Before the veto arrived, I had already decided to step aside: when I recover from the stroke, I do an interview on Canal Sur saying that I no longer want to know anything about Telecinco.
