Justice keeps Dani Alves in prison

Dani Alves will remain in prison after the Third section of the Barcelona Court dismissed on Monday the last appeal filed by the defense of the Brazilian soccer player, accused of having sexually assaulted a young woman at the end of last year at the Sutton nightclub. from Barcelona.

The Brazilian player's defense filed an appeal in May with the Barcelona Court against the decision of the investigating judge to keep Alves in Brians 2 after being in pretrial detention since January 20. The argument put forward by Alves' lawyers was that the player's ex-wife, Dinora Santana, and her two children had registered in Barcelona, demonstrating that there was family roots and that, therefore, there was no risk of flight.

However, the reasons given have not been convincing. It is the second time that the court rejects an appeal by Alves and confirms the decision of the Investigating Court 15 of Barcelona, which has also twice declined the player's request to be provisionally released until the trial is held.

The prosecution had described the appeal as "a fictitious life project."
