Income 2022 - 2023: until when can the draft be requested?

The 2022 income campaign advances. The last day to settle the IRPF seems distant, but time is ticking without waiting for anyone. Letting the days pass complicates the process, especially for those who have income from various sources or who need to include more details.

On March 8, the possibility of requesting the reference number was opened, and on March 15, access to tax data through the official application of the Tax Agency. In this way, since April 11, the day the campaign began, early risers have been able to submit their declaration from the comfort of home through Renta WEB, the AEAT online portal, and the official app.

The telephone service for the preparation and presentation of declarations begins on May 5, although an appointment may be requested from May 3. For those who prefer "face to face" at the offices of the Tax Agency, they will have to wait until June 1, the date on which face-to-face service begins in offices, with an appointment request from May 25 and until June 29.

The campaign ends on June 30 and will therefore be the last day on which the draft can be requested, taxpayers will be attended to and the income statement can be submitted.

Instead of requesting and sending it without further ado, the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) warns taxpayers that the draft must be carefully reviewed, since it is possible that the Treasury has incorrect or incomplete information.

The OCU advises that all available tools such as telephone or online support be used to help ensure that the declaration is accurate and complete.

The organization recommends reviewing personal and family data. It must be taken into account if during the past year you have changed your address or marital status or have had children or elderly people in your care.

In case of legal separation, it is necessary to verify the correctness of the data on real estate, as well as to take advantage of the option that is most interesting in the payment of compensatory pensions or alimony.

The deduction for maternity is also a fact to take into account. Working women who have been mothers in the past year and did not request the advance payment can include the maternity deduction on their return. Also mothers who since January 1, 2020 have been in an ERTE situation with total contract suspension or due to gender violence, in alternative periods of work and termination. It is applied retroactively for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Another factor to consider are the expenses and income declared by real estate. It is necessary to verify that the yields of the declared properties are correctly imputed. If any property has been sold or donated, the equity gain or loss obtained in the transaction must be included in the statement.

Depending on the community in which you reside, there are regional deductions. These are deductions of a family nature (large family, single parent...) or for a series of expenses (home rentals, educational expenses, water saving devices, electric vehicles...).

Finally, in the case of marriages in which both must file the income statement, it is important to study which type of statement is more profitable, individual or joint.

If an error is detected after having sent the draft, it is possible to access Renta Web to modify the erroneous data, always within the submission period.
