These spring photographs in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia invite us to tour the fields and mountains of Berga. Along these paths, under those spectacular skies, the life (and adventures) of the famous troubadour Guillem de Berguedà passed, who stood out for his poetry.

Guillem de Berguedà, also known as Guilhem de Berguedan or Guillem de Bergueda, was a Catalan troubadour who lived between 1138 and 1196. .

Information about Guillem de Berguedan comes mainly from songbooks and documents of the time, as well as from his own compositions. In addition, there are studies and biographies dedicated to his life and work, such as those of Adelbert Keller, Martín de Riquer and Francesc (Titot) Ribera.

Regarding his personal life, it is known that Guillem de Berguedan was of noble origin, but poor. It is believed that he worked as a page in the court of Ramon de Castell Rosselló.

In his poetic work, Guillem de Berguedan followed the tradition of the troubadours of the 12th century, generally using a number of stanzas from 5 to 7. His poetry deals with themes such as love, the lady and nature, being influenced by authors such as Ovid.

Although there are some discrepancies in the information about the life and work of Guillem de Berguedan, in general, his contribution to the world of troubadour poetry and his influence on medieval literature are recognized.
