In search of the Leaping Fish

In La Vanguardia Readers' Photos we have gone to the Val d'Aran in search of the Saut deth Pish (Fish Jump), formed by two waterfalls.

The main and most spectacular one, as seen in the images, is about 15 to 20 meters high, while the lower one is approximately 5 meters. In the video you can see how a canoeist jumps down the large waterfall.

The waters of the waterfalls largely come underground from Long Lake Liat, located a few kilometers further north. They arrive through a karst course that ends up coming to the surface at the Era Pila spring, in the Siesso ravine.

To find the Salto del Pez you have to take a walk through the Varradós valley. The starting point is in the Plan des Artiguetes from where, in a few minutes, we reach the waterfalls.

The excursion has other attractions, since in the surroundings of the waterfall and the refuge, we will find the beautiful forest of Siesso and the small mountain lake of Varradós.
