Illa relies on civil society personalities to promote her candidacy

The PSC candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, has sought support for his candidacy from personalities from Catalan civil society and some from abroad. Through the newly created platform SI, the members, around 140 initially, subscribe to a manifesto in favor of a president “who works to unite and avoids dividing”, who “is committed to dialogue and cooperation” and “avoids dispute and confrontation.

Among the signatories of the manifesto are personalities such as Josep Maria Bricall, ex-rector of the UB and Minister of Governance in the Government of Tarradellas; filmmaker Isabel Coixe; the actresses Núria Espert and Mónica Randall; the professor Victoria Camps; lawyer Josep López de Lerma; the artist and designer Javier Mariscal; the actor Roger Pera; the journalist Jorge Javier Vázquez, or the singer Joan Manuel Serrat.

In the manifesto, the platform advocates for a government “that works, that faces the problems that have been ignored, that is capable of doing well what has been done badly, that practices close collaboration with all administrations, especially with City Councils. ". For this reason, he concludes, "we are convinced that Salvador Illa is now convenient."

The PSC plans to present the platform and its postulates this Tuesday at noon in Barcelona
