This Wednesday, La Sexta broadcast a new installment of Let's say I'm talking about... dedicated on this occasion to Camela, the famous group made up of Dioni and Ángeles. His songs revolutionized the music scene when his tapes were only sold in flea markets. Among his staunchest fans was, already at that time, a very young Cristina Pedroche.
The popular Atresmedia presenter wanted to participate in this special dedicated to Camela, presented by Iñaki López, to thank them for everything they have done for her. So much so that the one from Vallecas did not hesitate to release a surprising confession, also by way of thanks and nod to the musical group of her life.
Dioni and Ángeles went from working as a street vendor and bookbinder, respectively, to social phenomena. Camela's life went from selling her music at gas stations and flea markets to department stores.
Camela revolutionized the music of our country in the nineties with her techno-rumba and hooked thousands of people, mainly young people, who did not stop singing her songs.
Cristina Pedroche, still a teenager, could not avoid falling into Camela's networks. You had several things in common: both came from humble neighborhoods and dreamed of success. In both cases, they succeeded thanks to a job well done.
The Atresmedia presenter told Iñaki López how she used to go to her neighborhood market to buy Camela cassettes and how her older cousins “played it a lot”. “I thought it was the best. Since then, I have not stopped listening to it, ”she assured.
But before telling how his love for Camela was forged, Pedroche stressed that “being in this interview is a dream. I need to be in everything Camela does. I need to continue being fan club number 1.”
After buying that first cassette and falling in love with their songs, he never stopped following the group, becoming one of its greatest references. "I couldn't stop listening to it," he admitted.
In fact, during her time as a reporter for I know what you did, Pedroche remembers how she was more nervous about interviewing Camela, her "idols", than when, for example, she spoke with international personalities like Bruce Willis or Will Smith.
"I knew you liked them, but I didn't know this devotion to Camela," Iñaki López told his chain partner. Here the journalist made a surprising confession about the influence they have exerted on her: “I am the way I am thanks to Camela, thanks to her songs.
And he added by way of clarification: “I am so romantic, so cloying, I live the drama so much… for them, because they have taught me to be like that. Because I was super little when I bought the first Camela tape and I couldn't stop listening to those lyrics, that voice of Ángeles… It's a dream”. Because according to Pedroche, "Camela is in my blood."
