The Department of Health has begun the expansion works of the CAP Bordeta - Magraners de Lleida that will double the surface of the space and go from the current 1,000 square meters to 2,000. The works have begun with the movement of earth prior to the assembly of the modules and the rest of the installation, right next to the current CAP, on Bosqué street.

The extension has a cost of 2.7 million euros financed with European funds and should be completed by the end of 2023. The works pay special attention to the humanization of the interior spaces, with specific materials and natural light, and will allow the center to grow in 18 new consultations that will be allocated to the healthcare and multipurpose areas, emergencies and community activities.

The Department has indicated that the expansion of the facility, built in 1994, responds to the significant growth of this expanding neighborhood and will serve to provide assistance to the population of ABS Lleida 6 Bordeta – Magraners, which is about 17,000 people.

The manager of the Lleida Health Region, Raül Llevot, has highlighted that the expansion of the CAP and the rest of the construction and remodeling projects of primary care centers in the territory "will make it possible to face, in the near future, the new challenges of improving health care in the territory.

Llevot has noted that the new equipment will help locate spaces “at a time when we have incorporated many professionals into primary care teams, such as dietitians or nutritionists, emotional well-being references, dental hygienists or physiotherapists; as well as the increase in the nursing, auxiliary and administrative staff, which in many weddings have pushed the spaces to the limit.

The works of the Bordeta - Magraners CAP, which have a budget of €2,743,000, are financed with European REACT funds and are carried out on land ceded by the Lleida City Council.
