Has frost time already started? It seems so, judging by these images in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

The ice sheets can already be seen in the interior of Catalonia, although there is still little water in the rivers and sources, for example, around the Ter as it passes through the Osona region.

On the outskirts of Manlleu you can see how the frost covers the fields, while the arctic smoke is present in the waters of the Ter River, where the cormorants try to dry their wings in the sun.

The Ter river rises in Ulldeter at 2,480 meters of altitude, at the foot of a glacial cirque in the Pyrenean region of Ripollès, very close to the town of Setcases.

The steaming water is known as arctic smoke. It is produced by the difference in temperature of the water and the air mass, as in this case in Manlleu.

It occurs when rivers, lakes, reservoirs or even the sea are at a much milder temperature than the air at certain times of the day, especially at dawn.

In Vallter 2000 the snow is already beginning to appear. This small ski resort is in the Camprodon Valley, when the ski season starts, it will have 14 kilometers of slopes.

While waiting for the skiers, the cars are already accumulating ice on the windshields and the frost is also visible on the fountains.
