The Association for Comprehensive Rural Development (Adrinoc) has launched an initiative in Garrotxa (Girona) to maintain agricultural relief in the region.
The entity searches for and accompanies future farmers and puts them in contact with others who will retire in a few years and who do not have family relief.
The objective is that during the years before retiring, both can work together and carry out a "progressive transfer" to be able to keep the operation going.
The key is to prevent the business from ending and thus ensure that it continues to function.
"The important thing is to move forward and do this support from a local point of view," says Adrinoc manager, Jordi Terrades.
