Fourteen teams from the Generalitat Fire Brigade are working to put out the flames of a vegetation fire that started this afternoon in Portbou (Alt Empordà).
The body received the notice shortly after half past four in the afternoon and eleven crews and four air vehicles moved to the source of the flames, next to the N-260 highway.
In parallel, the French government has also activated the fire brigade and they are attacking the flames from the other side of the border with five other crews to extinguish the vegetation fire.
The Catalan Traffic Service has announced that the N-260 road near Portbou is closed in both directions for this reason.
