Four girls denounce their soccer coach in Barakaldo for sexual abuse

Four minors, between 14 and 16 years old, have denounced sexual abuse against their coach at the Pauldarrak club in Barakaldo, a historic team in Basque women's soccer and linked to the San Vicente de Paúl school in this town. The Ertzaintza has started an investigation into the matter and the club has removed the coach until the judicial process is clarified.

The news of the complaint has been known through ETB, Basque public television. The case broke out after the minors told other players, in higher categories, that the accused coach had touched them and made inappropriate comments of sexual content at them.

From there, the older players went to another club coach, who also holds the position of child protection delegate of the entity, a figure mandatory by law for three years. This coach met with the young women and urged them, on the one hand, to tell their families about the case, and, on the other, to report the case.

The young women, accompanied by their families, have filed the complaint in the last few hours, and it is not ruled out that the number of complainants may increase in the coming hours.
