Four arrested for preparing acts against the Vuelta pass in Solsonès

The National Police have arrested four people this Saturday in the Lleida region of Solsonès, accused of preparing acts against the passage through Catalonia of the Cycling Tour of Spain.

As reported to EFE by police sources, the four arrests took place this Saturday morning in the framework of a device launched on suspicion that those arrested were preparing acts against the Vuelta, which next Monday, December 28, August, passes through Solsona in the third stage, between Súria and Arinsal.

In a message on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the Solidarity Alert platform has denounced that these four arrests are intended to show that it is a "colonialist Tour" and has wondered if the arrests are due to fear that the Tour "reflects the national and social oppression" that they believe Catalonia suffers "as a people".

At the same time, Òmnium Cultural has called protest actions around Catalonia on the occasion of the Vuelta a España, which starts this Saturday from Barcelona and will have a total of three stages in the community.

The pro-independence entity has called for mobilization and to carry the flag through the points where the cycling tour will pass, with the intention of "making the Catalan political conflict visible in the world".
