Four arrested for having irregular workers in beauty centers in Lloret and Blanes

The National Police have arrested four people who managed eight nail beauty centers in Lloret de Mar and Blanes with irregular workers. The victims were brought to Spain with commercial flights, and once here their passports were withdrawn in order to have greater control over them.

The agents identified a total of 31 people, who worked in the eight businesses inspected, of which the vast majority were in an irregular situation. They did not have a work or residence permit and were not registered with Social Security. They also arrested the four managers of these stores.

The investigation started after several foreign citizens reported the theft of their passports. The agents discovered that they were in the country irregularly and when asked about the reasons for their stay in Lloret, they replied that they worked in a beauty shop.

The modus operandi consisted of having a single worker registered, who was the owner's daughter, and photocopying her residence and work card, as well as the employment contract. The owner gave each of the workers in an irregular situation a copy of these documents.

In this way, if one day they had an inspection in one of the premises where they worked, the employees could show that documentation, taking advantage of the similarity of the physical features with the daughter of the owner.

Those arrested are accused of an alleged crime against the rights of workers, document falsification and favoring clandestine immigration.
