Fomente Treball charges against the "ideological interventionism" of the Government

Foment del Treball has charged against the "ideological interventionism" of the Government of Spain. The president of the employer, Josep Sánchez Llibre, has assured in his speech during the entity's assembly that the measures of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez and, in particular, of the second vice-president, Yolanda Díaz, are putting the Social Dialogue in danger.

"In no way can we accept the interventionism of public powers in areas of action and competence of social agents, recognized in the Spanish Constitution itself, the Workers' Statute and the rest of the corresponding regulations," assured the former deputy of Joined.

Throughout his speech, Sánchez Llibre has made several mentions of the Government's labor policy. “We are very concerned about the continuous proposals of the Ministry of Labor, which are always unidirectional to harm companies,” said Sánchez Llibre, and then stressed that companies have had enough.

“The Government of Spain cannot be influenced by particular or ideological interests that harm the entire country,” he stated.

During his speech, Sánchez Llibre recalled Foment's traditional battlehorses: elimination of the Wealth Tax, the defense of the expansion of El Prat Airport and the return of the companies' headquarters to Catalonia.

Sánchez Llibre has taken advantage of the defense that the Grifols employers' association has made against the attack by Gotham City Research. “Fomento has been the only entity in Spain that has publicly defended the terrible attack that this company received from the financial pirate Gotham,” he indicated. “Neither the Government of the Generalitat nor the State have been able to do what Foment has done,” said the businessman.

In today's assembly, the board of directors of Foment del Treball has approved a change in statutes to eliminate the term limit for the president. This situation will allow Josep Sánchez Llibre to run for a third re-election in 2026.

The vote ended with 19 votes in favor and two abstentions.
