Fog is also for summer

This Monday at dawn, the mists and low clouds accompanied the beautiful town of Joanetes. In the photographs that I share in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, you can see this meteorological phenomenon between Mount Puigsacalm and this town in the region of La Garrotxa.

Joanetes, in 1970, was integrated into the municipality of Vall d'en Bas, which treasures a beautiful landscape. The Puigsacalm rises up to 1514 meters above sea level. It is the highest point of the Transversal Cordillera. At its top there is a geodesic vertex.

It is clear that fog is also for summer, at least in this part of Catalonia, close to Osona, the area of Spain with the most days a year with this meteorological phenomenon, which consists of the suspension of very small droplets of water in the atmosphere or of humid hygroscopic particles, which reduce horizontal visibility at a distance of one kilometer or more.

If the phenomenon gives a vision of 1 km or less, it is considered as fog; and if it allows you to see more than 1 km, the phenomenon is fog.

We can also see in this series of snapshots the fog and low clouds floating between Joanetes and the Serra de Llancers.

Or we can also appreciate the fog between the sunflowers and the Puigsacalm with low clouds.
