Ferrovial to the Government: "The operation has no personal objective"

Ferrovial assures that its reverse merger operation with which it will transfer its headquarters from Spain to the Netherlands "does not have a fiscal objective, much less a personal one", but is "purely financial and technical", according to company sources.

With these statements, the company responds to the messages transmitted today from Moncloa, in which the reasons given by the company are described as "ridiculous" and it is accused of seeking a tax shelter to pay less taxes. The Government attributes the change to the "personal interest" of the president of Ferrovial, Rafael del Pino.

In their reply to the government's speech, Ferrovial's sources emphasize the "technical" aspects, without ever mentioning elements such as possible legal uncertainty in Spain that has led them to move to another country.

The company also indicates that there are other European companies that have done the same. He does not cite examples, but companies such as Ferrari, Stellantis, Exor or Campari have moved to Amsterdam to use the Euronext platform and list simultaneously in several countries.

From the Netherlands, Ferrovial insists, it will be possible to list in the United States. "There is no company with our profile in the United States market and it is an opportunity for new investors to enter the company."

"Euronext links the Amsterdam stock exchange with those of the United States," he adds. CNMV sources have indicated today that the company has not informed them of the difficulties to be listed in the United States from Spain. The Minister for Economic Affairs, Nadia Calviño, has said that the Government is open to analyzing formulas to expedite this process.
