Feijóo asks to unite the vote in the PP and warns that supporting Vox means losing seats

From today until next Friday Alberto Núñez Feijóo will be in Catalonia almost every day. A final stretch of the campaign in which the PP will fight to be decisive in the Parliament but where it is observed in the polls that Vox, which obtained 11 deputies in 2021, is holding positions. For this reason, the president of the PP has made a clear call to unite the vote around his party and has addressed especially those who "deep down want the popular ones to govern" so that they do not choose other options.

"Dividing the vote means subtracting seats," he stressed, "and this has already happened in the general elections, where if it had not been the case today we would be governing Spain." It was the first time in this campaign that this party looked towards the frontier of the right, in this attempt to group together all the supports that reject the socialist and independence projects.

Feijóo has returned to Catalonia after the five-day crisis led by Pedro Sánchez, and the offensive launched by the president. For this reason, the decibels have risen in the criticism of the socialists, especially the head of the Executive, whom he has described as a “walking hoax factory.” He has highlighted that he has not told any truth for five years and that he “only wants to listen to himself.”

Although with a different tone, he has put Salvador Illa in the same bag, understanding that his “contradictions about the pacts” also reveal that he is not trustworthy. “In the morning he hugs you, at noon he pushes you and at night he insults you.” Feijóo has been clear in denouncing the comments about Puigdemont made yesterday by the president of the UGT in Catalonia, Matías Carnero, who closes the PSC list, against the former president.

The PP has also pointed out in this search to join forces around its project, that its vote is the one that most bothers "separatism and sanchismo" and Feijóo has presented four fundamental reasons for supporting the PP. He has explained that he intends to stop the “decline of Catalonia”, remove it from “paralysis”, put an end to “frivolity” and “lies”. The leader of the PP has also asked for an end to a caste of politicians who in recent years have not only used Catalonia, but have dedicated themselves to dividing Catalans.

Alejandro Fernández closed the event by appealing to the need to go out into the streets in recent days to seek the support of those who may feel “tired” after the last political decade. The mobilization in these autonomous regions, which arrive months after the 2023 electoral marathon, is essential for the popular ones, who detect a certain citizen fatigue. “This is the moment we have been waiting for for many years,” said the candidate, “to bring a project of harmony.”

The president of the Catalan PP has focused his criticism above all on the Socialist Party, also seeking to contrast his project with the PSOE. For this reason, he has warned of politicians who want to use their “feelings” as a way to manipulate. And he has asked citizens not to accept Sánchez's use of women.

“He has used the dignified struggle of women to hide his shame. No one has told Begoña Gómez to leave, we want him, the husband, to leave,” she concluded.
