Feijóo admits that the PP made mistakes in Catalonia and promises to lead Spain

With only two deputies in the last general elections, and with a wide margin of electoral growth in Catalonia, Alberto Núñez Feijóo has returned to Barcelona today to launch a conciliatory message, where he has asked for the vote of voters who support all formations -including those independentistas-. The popular candidate wants this broad support, he has said, to prevent Pedro Sánchez from blocking governance. He has thus placed the emphasis on the construction of a majority party, also in Catalonia. And in this reflection he has admitted that his party has made mistakes, "quite a few, in Catalonia too."

The popular ones want to end the long ostracism in this community that came hand in hand with the procés, and for this reason Feijóo has indicated that he wants to return to Catalonia its ability to lead Spain. "Catalonia must lead the economy of Spain and for this it must be able to compete on equal terms with the rest of the autonomies, with Madrid, with Valencia". And in this context he has stressed that it is "the town that pays the most taxes, it is the most splendid town that pays the most and contributes the most." He has made reference to income tax and wealth tax.

Feijóo has returned -as he did in the municipal ones- to Turó Park in a rally with more influx of attendees -about 1,500- and where he has promised to return as "president", but for this he has stressed the importance of "concentrating the vote in the only party that brings change". The idea of change, with constant references to what was Felipe González's motto decades ago, has been carried out by drawing a line between "sanchismo" and its formation. He has warned that a more electorally weakened Pedro Sánchez will be imprisoned by the dictates of minorities -he has made reference to ERC and EH Bildu-. And he has asked the Catalans not to let themselves be ruled by Arnaldo Otegi.

Feijóo wanted to draw up a constructive discourse, giving as an example his "integrative" management in Galicia, without "good and bad Catalans". A speech where he has appealed for this broad support of all political colors and where the most highlighted criticism has been especially for Pedro Sánchez. Referring to the years of procés, he has indicated that he "reveals" himself against the politicians who fostered the division of Catalan society "to cover up corruption or his incapacity".

The candidate has indicated that the PP must be a party for the future in Catalonia. Apart from the global reflections in code 23-J, he has gone into detail by indicating that in the first hundred days of the government he will arbitrate the measures so that the occupations of buildings can be resolved in 48 hours. The popular leader has said goodbye stressing that he wants to be "the president of all Catalans"
