Europe, connected to the United States and Latin America through the Valencia-Miami axis

In recent years we have witnessed the consolidation of Valencia as a reference technology hub in southern Europe. Our innovative ecosystem has managed to attract the attention of investors, talent and entrepreneurs, the Valencian innovative ecosystem has managed to make a name for itself on the international scene.

Undoubtedly, this positioning and visibility have contributed to the scaling of our startups globally, an aspect that has reinforced the creation of a link between Valencia and Miami. A true business bridge for startups and investors that has defined a clear itinerary for entering the Latin American and American markets through the two cities.

The Valencian innovative ecosystem has been betting, for years, on promoting this connection. Despite the distance, both cities share several similarities and their ecosystems have some common characteristics. Like Valencia, Miami has managed to establish itself as an innovative hub and attract investment and startups, despite having great competition in the United States.

We share that friendly and fresh essence with some modern and pleasant cities that frame businesses. And a climate that invites you to want to live in them. Miami has become one of the main entrepreneurship hubs in the United States in recent years. The city has a wide network of investors, accelerators and entrepreneurship support programs.

The parallelism with our ecosystem makes the collaboration between the two easy and fluid. Additionally, Miami is a key connection point between the United States and Latin America, making it a strategic location for startups seeking to expand in the region. And it is that the United States offers great business opportunities for Spanish entrepreneurs and Latin America has great potential for the development of startups and entrepreneurship. The region has a young and technologically advanced population, as well as an emerging market.

Among the main cities in Latin America for the development of startups are Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Buenos Aires or Bogotá, among others. These cities have a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem, which is receiving more and more investment and support.

For this reason, startups are taking advantage of the connection between Valencia, Miami and Latin America to expand into new markets and establish strategic alliances with other companies. It is essential to value the role of Valencia as a port of departure from Europe to the American continent, since relations with the Miami ecosystem are already established. Not in vain, from Startup Valencia we have been promoting this connection in recent years through technological events such as the Valencia Digital Summit, where in 2021 we held the 'Miami Valencia Forum' or with business missions of Valencian entrepreneurs to this Florida city.

Precisely, during the month of April of this year, we are immersed in one of these missions that allow us to build a real business bridge between the Valencian Community and Miami. From Startup Valencia we have traveled with 40 companies between startups and ecosystem agents to publicize the technology and work carried out by Valencian companies as well as facilitate their introduction into the US market. A week in which we are going to meet with investors, lawyers, banks and accelerators based in Miami; as well as with agents of innovative ecosystems in Latin America.

When the internationalization of startups and the scaling of our ecosystem are the bets for the future, being the starting point of this whole adventure is one more competitive factor to position our region.
