En Comú assures that Podemos is negotiating in parallel with ERC for the general elections

The state leadership of Podemos has informed En Comú Podem that, while negotiating its integration into Sumar, it is maintaining open negotiations with Esquerra to run together in the general elections, according to reports from the commons. The notice has fallen like a bomb among the commons, whose space is unified with Podem, the territorial section of Podemos, and endangers the negotiation with the platform of Yolanda Díaz.

However, Esquerra Republicana sources emphatically deny that these negotiations exist or that they intend to participate in a joint platform with those of Ione Belarra in the general elections next July: "Given the information that has appeared, Esquerra Republicana emphatically affirms that it is not in any open negotiation with Podemos to configure any list or coalition for the Spanish elections on July 23. Esquerra asks that the internal disputes of other formations not place them in interested leaks ”, concludes the ERC statement.

The commons, for their part, emphasize that “Sumar is carrying out negotiations with all the actors on the left to present themselves jointly, negotiations in which the commons also participate. In Catalonia, Podem and the Comuns already function as a unitary space, presenting themselves jointly to all the elections as En Comú Podem and working smoothly”.

The space led by Jessica Albiach does not hide "its surprise to learn that from Podemos, in parallel to the negotiation with Sumar, they are also negotiating with ERC to run with the independentistas in the general elections."

In the brief statement and regarding the words of Pablo Iglesias about the supposed opposition of the commons to Podemos participating in Sumar, they are "surprised because they denote a lack of knowledge of the negotiations of someone who is not participating in them."
